บทสัมภาษณ์ โรฮาน ซู-ลี (Rohan Zhou-Lee) @Blasianmarch ผู้ก่อตั้ง Blasian พันธมิตรของ Thai Rights Now ที่ร่วมสนับสนุนการเคลื่อนไหวเพื่อสิทธิมนุษยชนในไทย

โรฮาน: ชื่อ โรฮาน นามสกุล ซู-ลี. สรรพนาม เขาหรือ ซีญา
TRN : ทำไมคุณถึงได้มาเข้าร่วมกับ การเคลื่อนไหวของกลุ่ม BLM?
โรฮาน: ผมได้มีการเข้าร่วมการประท้วงในสหรัฐอเมริกามาแล้วประมาณ 7 ปี แต่ก็รู้สึกว่า การที่เกิดมาเป็นแบบนี้ เป็นบุคคลผิวสีและเพศทางเลือก มันหมายถึงผมเกิดขึ้นมาเพื่อการเคลื่อนไหวเหล่านี้อยู่แล้ว ส่วนการเข้าร่วมกับ BLM อาจเป็นสิ่งที่เรียกได้ว่าผมได้ทำมาอยู่แล้วต่างหาก
TRN : คุณคิดว่าอะไรคือการเคลื่อนไหวของ BLM จะเป็นไปในทิศทางไหนในอนาคต?
โรฮาน: ผมคิดว่า การเคลื่อนไหวของ BLM จะพัฒนาดำเนินต่อไปเรื่อย ๆ แต่อย่างไรนั้น พวกเราคงต้องตามดูกันต่อไป.ผมหวังว่า คนส่วนใหญ่จะสามารถเข้าใจว่า ในขณะนี้ คนที่ได้รับผลประโยชน์สูงสุดจากการสนับสนุนการประท้วงครั้งนี้ ก็คือกลุ่มเพศชาย(Straight Men)เอง แม้ว่าการประท้วงในครั้งนี้เริ่มก่อตั้งด้วยผู้หญิงแค่ 3 คน ได้แก่ , Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors, and Opal Tometi ซึ่ง 2 ใน 3 นั้นเป็นกลุ่มบุคคลเพศทางเลือก ในนิวยอร์คเอง สิ่งที่ผมกำลังเห็นคือผู้นำของหลาย ๆ กลุ่มออกมาเคลื่อนไหว เช่น Jermaine Greaves จากกลุ่ม ผู้พิการในกลุ่มบุคคลผิวสี (The Black Disabled Lives Matter) Qween Jean and Joel Rivera จากกลุ่ม the Stonewall Protests ซึ่งเรียกร้องเกี่ยวกับ ความหลากหลายทางเพศของบุคคลผิวสี และ กลุ่มบุคคลข้ามเพศ. ส่วนโปรเจ็คของผมเองก็คือ The Blasian March ที่ต่อสู้เรื่องกลุ่มคนผิวสี, กลุ่มคนเอเชียน, และกลุ่มคนที่เป็นลูกครึ่งระหว่าง คนผิวสีและเอเชียน ผมคิดว่า กลุ่มคนที่ไม่ได้เป็นเพศทางเลือก และ ไม่ได้เป็นผู้พิการต้องทำ ไม่ใช่เพียงแค่ a lot of unlearning to not only honor the legacy of the founders, แต่ต้องทำให้แน่ใจว่าการเคลื่อนไหวจะดำเนินต่อไปในอนาคต
TRN : คุณหาพวกเรา และเข้ามารวมกับองค์กรของเราได้อย่างไร?

โรฮาน: ผมเชื่อในพลังของประชาชน รัฐที่ปราศจากประชาชน ก็จะไม่ใช่รัฐ. ผู้นำที่ปราศจากผู้ตามก็จะไม่ใช่ผู้นำ แต่ถึงแม้จะเป็นอย่างงั้น อำนาจก็เป็นของประชาชนอยู่ดี. สิ่งที่กำลังเกิดขึ้นในประเทศไทยนี้มีความสำคัญมากและตัวรัฐบาลเองก็เริ่มจะตระหนักรู้ถึงอำนาจของประชาชนแล้ว ผมรู้สึกประทับใจมากในทุก ๆ คนที่ออกมาสู้ มาเคลื่อนไหว เพื่อกระบวนการประชาธิปไตยในประเทศไทย
TRN : อะไรคือมุมมองของคุณเกี่ยวกับการสนับสนุนซึ่งกันและกันของแต่ละองค์กรเพื่อที่จะสร้างสังคมที่มีความเท่าเทียมกัน
โรฮาน: ผมคิดว่าการสนับสนุนซึ่งกันและกันเป็นอะไรที่สำคัญมากเพื่อที่จะสร้างโลกที่มนุษย์ที่ทุกคนมีอิสระเสรี. การที่จะนำความยุติธรรมกลับมา, พวกเราทุกคนต้องร่วมกันขับเคลื่อนสังคมและ มันจะสำเร็จไม่ได้เลยจนกว่า ทุกสังคมจะได้รับการเยียวยาและได้รับการสนับสนุนเรื่องดังกล่าวต่อไป
TRN : มีอะไรที่อยากฝากบอกไหม?
โรฮาน: พวกคุณทุกคนน่าทึ่งมาก!!!!
TRN: Please, briefly introduce yourself.
Rohan: My name is Rohan Zhou-Lee. Pronouns they / siya
TRN: Why did you join the BLM and Movement?
Rohan: I have participated in US protest culture for about seven years, but I recognize that being born as I am, Black and LGBT, means that I was born already into the movement simply by existing. Joining BLM was more like putting in words what I was already doing.
TRN: What’s the future in the BLM movement, in your opinion? (Pros n Cons)
Rohan: I think BLM will continue to evolve. How we will have to see. I hope that most people in it can recognize that so far straight men have benefitted the most in terms of protest support, even though it was founded by three women, Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors, and Opal Tometi, two of whom are LGBT. In New York, I am seeing how a lot of intersectional identity leaders coming forward, such as Jermaine Greaves of the Black Disabled Lives Matter, Qween Jean and Joel Rivera of the Stonewall Protests for the Black queer and trans people, and my own project, the Blasian March, for Black, Asian and people who are mixed with both. I think a lot of those who are straight and not disabled have to do a lot of unlearning to not only honor the legacy of the founders but also to ensure a sustainable future for the movement.
TRN: How did you find and come to join our demonstration (Thai New Yorkers For Democracy)?
Rohan: Fleur sent me the flyer!
TRN: What are your views on the fighting movement for democracy in Thailand?
Rohan: I believe in the power of the people. Without the people, there is no nationhood. There is no leader of any kind without a people to lead. Therefore, the power belongs to the people. What’s happening in Thailand is crucial for the country and its government to begin to acknowledge that power. I am inspired by the courage of every single person who has joined the fighting movement for democracy in Thailand.
TRN: What are your views on mutual support (BLM & others democracy movement) for building an equal society?
Rohan: I think that mutual support is essential for building a world where all human beings are free. In order to bring restorative justice, we all have to work together, and it cannot be achieved until every community is healed and has the support to continue healing.
TRN: Any comment points of view welcome.
